Panic Cell to play final gig on 9 July at Sonisphere Festival

Metal behemoths Panic Cell have announced that their Saturday afternoon appearance at the Sonisphere Festival will be the groups last.

The band, who are set to appear on the Jagermeister stage at 3pm, have issued the following statement:

‘It would be great if you could come down and join us for our final party at Knebworth Park – Be part of The Final Fling; lashings of cold shots in true Cell Style and a massive surprise or two!

Panic Cell appeared onto the scene in late 2004 and early 2005 laying the foundations with some truly exceptional dream fulfilling tours and festivals.  This trend continued into 2011 where some amazing times were had, sharing stages with great bands all over the world.

Our Sponsors

As an unsigned band (and yes, it’s a fact Panic Cell were never truly ‘signed’) we had the honour of playing Download Festival three times, opening up for Metallica/The Big 4, playing mind blowing tours with some of the definitive bands of our generation and now we get to bow out at the awesome Sonisphere Festival, Knebworth Park surrounded by our peers and close friends. Thank you for your support and good wishes, these memories will be with us forever.

Some dubious business decisions and that necessary mother of all evil “money” played a hand in knocking us down. Whatever happened though, we always got back up and gave it our best shot, we can honestly say that hand on heart.

It’s you people, our fans and our supporters within the industry which have worked so hard for us and given us the opportunities to develop n hone our performances on stage and in the studio – Thank you so much –  it’s all you who have given us so much of your time and faith which has fueled us to work harder and succeed as best we can.

The tough but very amicable decision to ‘split’ was made as it’s become clear that some of us have new exciting careers/projects which they wish to work on and develop. We will continue to support each other in these areas as the true friends we were before we became Panic Cell.’

Panic Cell frontman Luke Bell added, ‘Saturday the 9th of July will be Panic Cells last show. It’s going to be emotional, closing a chapter on such a big part of our lives and we’ll be putting our heart and souls into it, even more so than we normally do. Though it’s our last hurrah, we want to leave you buzzing!’

‘Thank you so much everyone, we hope to see as many of you as possible at Sonisphere, Knebworth zombies, fans and all – wear your Panic Cell tee or hoodie with pride, we’d really like to say goodbye to each and everyone of you personally. What’s next???? – Watch this space!! Playing in bands is in our blood and we’ve not come this far to say goodbye.  This is simply goodnight for now!Much love and respect to you all!’
